Not aware of anyone making a metal version or if anything else fits. I've never had any trouble with the gears or diffs on my Bmax. If they are shimmed and built properly they are pretty bullet proof.
Sounds to me like they need shimmed or you are puting too much power through it. What type of speedo/motor you using? Dave

Shim it properly (one extra to get a slightly tighter mesh) and loosen the slipper off a tad to take some of the aggression out.
The bevel gears do wear out eventually so it might be an idea to change them if your putting a lot of power through them. Steve

Add a shim to the small bevel gear, and leave the rest standard. The magicword is: break the diffs and the whole drivetrain in!
Also don't use the standard setting of the slipper, which is way to locked. Take out the shims on the slipper which are added on the slippershaft, and adjust it after that how you like it. |

It seems a bit weak, is this a big problem still?
Two of my friends (one of them works in a hobbyshop and are a national winner in 1:10 buggy++) also had the same problem when they was driving this car. Have Yokomo changed anything, new bevel, new plasticformula, etc? The car should handle 5.5t with agressive tune after mine upinion, other cars do... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Yokomo over all brands! :-) Arne

If gear mesh is adjusted correctly (i.e. not too loose), there should not be any problem.
