If you are on a 70t (48dp) spur and kit tyres then somewhere around 28t pinion dependant on the track size.

The kit spur is not 70t though.

Have a look at the mmpr calculation in the back of manual and calculate which pinion you need for around 65mmpr.

You can buy 48dp spurgear. i think 74 is most common size.

There's nothing wrong with the kit spur gear. For a 13.5 with 50mm diameter rear tyres you need a 19T 32DP pinion. When the tyres get to 45mm you will need a 22T 32 DP pinion. It would be best if you bought all four (19, 20, 21, 22) then you can race any tyre size you have. As advised, use the calculation in the back of the book to work out any other combinations. HTH

If you go 48DP then you can divide the 32DP tooth numbers by two, and multiply by three. The equivalent to a 46T 32DP is a (46/2 x 3) is a 69T 48DP, so got for the nearest one you can get to that. If it's a 74T then you will need a 30T pinion for 50mm tyres, and a 34T 48DP pinion for 45mm.

When you convert the pinions from 32DP directly you will not get the same ratios because the 48DP spur is not an exact conversion of the 32DP spur. As has been said before, master the calculation in the back of the book and then you are able to work any pinion/spur combo out at any time. Alternatively go to http://www.rcracing.com/Gear_Ratio_Program_1100.cfm and make yourself a look-up chart for the spur gear of your choice. HTH

If you go 48 dp most common is 66 or 70 spur. I would then go for 28 to 32 pinion.
