Gear diffs in a K1
Are you using them? What did you find? What oils are you on?

Received mine today, nice units and went together well. A little tip when building them is do a dummy run with no diff oil first of all in case you have to change the shimming. I found that with one extra shim under one of the sun gears on both diffs gave just a little backlash on the gears and felt just right.
Found that I only had 7k diff oil so will start with that in both diffs this Sunday. |

I have been running 10,000 front and back at both Southport and Epr on Sunday. I have done too much testing with them yet but I like the balance on those oils.

been trying 7k all round, found that the back seems to rotate to much for me so went a little lighter in the rear and has sorted it out,7k for me in the front feels great but i think it'll be down to how much diff action you need/want.

Tried them out today on my local dirt track in 33 to 36 degrees heat. Jumps are covered with astro.
Worked great, and couldn't tell the difference between these and the ball diffs. Used Kyosho 7k front, 5k rear. The diffs are incredibly smooth. |

Tried mine today at Torch which is all astro, had 7k front and rear. Really liked them, car feels a bit more responsive but in a nice way, still controlled but also seemed to have a bit more rotation in the corners. I have a bit too much steering so will try 10k in the front next.

I tried mine on dirt nationals this weekend. Started with 7k up front and 3k in the rear. I dropped rear one down to 2k and then to 1k. In the end I ran ball diff in the rear and car was as good as I wanted it to be.
Rearend simply wanted to step out a bit way too much with gear diff. Anyway I belive that with more setup gear diff should be option on dirt tracks as well.
