Default The lesser known/used ESC's/Motors

Hi all.

Need to get a fresh set of electrics soon for a coming S411 Team edition by serpent and id like to look the lesser known/used brands out there.
such as Muchmore fleta 4 that looks nice, The Orca VX, Hacker motors etc

But what else is there, that is good, works, fast, looks cool too, i like my gadgetry.

I am veering to the Orca because the case with its clear bottom and coloured top looks lovely.

The ORCA is used a fair bit here in Sweden and is an awesome esc.
Everyone I have spoken to that has it is really impressed.

Even the new ORCA motors are pretty good, run a bit hotter than the previous motor (I think due to the case) and are about 20gms lighter than anyother motor (due to case I think)

Hacker motors Im not sure about and I think the MM esc are rebranded Reventon pros

Acuvance/Keyence Tachyon Airia?
Advanced Electronics Black Diamond?

I've got the Airia and a couple of club mates have the Black Diamond. All seem to work well.

Seem to be quite unusual/rare.

TBH the Airia is mental, hitting wide open throttle is like flicking a switch into insanity. Even with timing and turbo turned right down.

Can get my 410 wheelying down the back straight. First time I tried anything extra (bit of timing) I snapped a tresrey half shaft.........

The black Diamond seems to be the same sort of thing.

(I'm comparing with a reventon pro, a gt2.0lpf and fusion exceed pro, all fairly decent kit)

I may even put a slower motor in.

Is the Airia allowed via BRCA, EFRA etc or do ESC's not need checking in non blinky classes?

because id really like one now haha, very neat n fancy package/.

The Advanced Electronics is a great bit of kit. They also offer a superb support and back up service.

The black diamond was once considered the best speedo you could get... Little costly though. The high end keyence series is very impressive with small footprints but no distributors here in the UK from what I know. If you need to buy usually from Japan. In fact, Schumacher were UK distributors for keyence at one time. They also do an impressive set of brushless sensored motors.

I have several of their brushed speedos. Really good stuff!

If you like a nice speedo with style check out the ko propo vfs1 bmc...easy to set up and has masses of custom features. I have one paired with an orca motor. Awesome jap combo.

Even nicer is the latest sanwa vortex zero speedo

http://ayani.exblog.jp/20678085

If I had to get a new speedo this would be it.

I run the ORCA speedo's, I have a VTC in my DEX 410 which when combined with a LRP X20 5.5 motor is ridiculously punchy and still runs pretty cool, and a VX speedo with a RX 6.5 in my TM2 which again is as fast if not faster than most things. Only downside is a lack of aftersales service in the UK.

Orca seems to get mixed bags when it comes to reviews

some people have purchased lipos from em, puffed quickly, never buying orca again and then some had issues with sensor ports going pop..

seems all a bit odd really, i really do like the orca stuff it looks very nice

this will be going in a touring car as well so space etc is quite important as well as cooling, motor wise ive decided on the Corally Silver pro series as they look utterly beautiful.

But if i was to place likely speedo id order right now..it would probably be the Keyence? and max speed technology stocks keyence stuff by the way for UK sales/

Have to say that the Toro does look really good. There is one guy running them here that I know and he really likes it.
That would also be one that I would like to try.

Nice price as well.
Hobbyking does have a new turnigy esc that looks very similar, although the cheetha esc combo from skyrc looks most like the turnigy one.
