Are you joking? What if people can't make Saturday? Regardless of the track being different or not, people are going to get a setup for the astro so to run on the Saturday is a joke. Is it even allowed?

Or do you mean the Saturday a week before the meeting?

I am in Belgium for this meeting, but I agree with Stu that this is a little unfair, Don't think I have ever heard this before. Is it allowed the day before the main event?

From the brca rules.....

14.12 The track will be closed to any kind of use, whether for race events or practice, by anyone, including the club’s own members, for the whole of the seven day period immediately prior to the commencement of a National event

No mention of regional meetings regarding that rule that I can see

So thats the "is it allowed" answered....

Only in the North West would this happen though and IMO I think its a little unfair because we as a region did not go down the two day events just both classes all on the Sunday and that's it. If I was doing this meeting and could not make the Saturday practise day then I would not bother doing the Sunday.

(just my opinion maybe other people have a different one)

Hang on people, I see your point however there is nothing stopping people bunking into Southport or Bury on the Saturday before those regionals. They are both in public parks.

This is a new track to 99% of us and having some access of the track for practise was requested.

It's a new track Aidan and should be fair for all, not just those that can get there on Saturday.

Regardless of the rules, opening the track for practice the day before a regional isn't in the spirit of racing. It gives an unfair advantage to those that can go and whilst I'm sure it wasnt intended this way and was just intended as a bit of extra fun/practice it's not.

It would be a real shame for the hobby and racing in general if people deliberately exploited every advantage that wasn't written down as a specific rule to stop it.

Nnrc was new to 99% of people as well but I don't remember a practice day being organised for that one. Pendle has been astro and several 1/10 meetings have been run on it already.
