DEX210 rtr diff gear oil
I have just finished a 4 gear mid motor conversion and noticed there was not any oil in the geared diff(2 gear). I used Core RC 450cst shock oil and noticed
the motor was running hot ( after 25 mins on astro turf). I just bought S-works 3000cps diff oil but, I am cautious to use it because it is thicker than the shock oil. Is my logic misplaced and would a thicker oil be better suited?. Please help. |

The stock diff oil is 3,000. You can run thinner or thicker oil, some like thicker, even upto 12,000, others like thinner. I emailed Team Durango about it and they recommended as low as 1,000 on high grip surfaces like carpet, but 3,000 was a good comprise.

Thanks for the effort.
Do you know if 3000cps is thicker than 3000cst?. |

Sorry I didnt pick up on that before, all my values were CST.
Just had a quick search on Google (and I assume this is correct!!) Quote:
