Can we talk motors for GT12/Supastox?
Hi, I've been racing GT12 for about a year now, and really enjoying it. I have the Core RC GT12 Combo (Pace 45R ESC + Speed Passion V3 13.5t motor) and it's suited me fine. Basically I'd like to know where I can go from here in terms of motor and esc.
I can't afford to upgrade to the ultra top-of-the-range hardware, so which motor would be a good step up? And if I upgrade the motor, do I need a new esc at the same time? Cheers |

a good speedo is the skyrc 1s from Schumacher and a thunderpower motor, if you buy a new motor now your speedo will be the weak link, if you get a speedo visa versa

Agree with Mark on the speedo - a good device for a good price. For motors I would recommend the G Force motors (link below) that are excellent performance for not much money.
http://www.zen-racing.co.uk/catalog/...tor-135t-p-696 The other option is to look out for LRP SXX v2 or Nosram Pearl or Hobbywing 120A 1S v2.1 speedos that appear in the For Sale section here and on other sites. These are excellent speedos now out of production so available for good money. You will be very competitive with the Sky speedo and a G Force motor but that is a £140 package so you will have to decide if that meets your budget. The other side of the coin is that buying the usual brand names could add another £80 to £100 to that and you'd struggle to notice the difference on the track. HTH |

Hi, I'm after a new motor for GT12 as I find my speed passion a little soft on punch was looking at the new Trinity D4 13.5 1s Short Stack Maxilla Brushless Motor will I notice a difference? or are there other motors that perform the same.
ESC is Hobbyking gen2 1s with nano tech cells. much too some peoples dislike. |

There's a thread for these motors on RC Tech, you can find it here;
http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...ity-d4-1s.html I think you will se an improvement over your SP motor with any of the motors used at the GT12 nationals, have a look at the spec sheets and you'll see a good mix of manufacturers so don't see one motor quicker than the others. Not sure if the short stack motor will be any quicker than these though as they aren't approved for BRCA events. Your speedos nice and legal now though! |

I've never seen a spec sheet for a Trinity motor. All they give you is the details on their website and you can download the instructions. I am not sure that constitutes a spec sheet!
