New B5M Infinity chassis kit from X-Factory
Could this be the answer? Just seen this on the X-Factory site.
image.jpg NEW INFINITY LINE FROM X FACTORY DO THE MATH TO HOP UP YOUR RIDE! X Factory R/C introduces a new line of parts called "Infinity By X Factory" For ten years X Factory has been the most innovative company in all of off-road R/C, first introducing the X - 5 in 2004 and following that in 2006 with the first mass produced mid-motor buggy, the X - 6. X Factory has won National Championships in nine different countries. Now X Factory’s engineering genius Paul Sinclair turns his talents to other cars as we introduce the Infinity By X Factory line. These are not X Factory Conversion Kits which turn your existing AE car into an X Factory car; rather Infinity By X Factory are hop-ups that improve performance in other brands. First up is a new carbon fiber chassis for the B5M, and the line will be expanded soon with shock towers, new steering systems, and other innovative products that take your car to the next level. Do The Math - It’s like a Squared version of your current car. The Infinity carbon fiber chassis gives the B5M lots more flex and tunability. Drivers report both much better cornering and increased forward bite on all surfaces. Rough tracks require more flex, so loosen some or all of the side deck screws on the Infinity chassis. The forward screws affect front flex, while the rear ones work on the back end. Loosen a half turn, or take them entirely out - which ones you do and how much you do tunes the car. On smoother indoor tracks tighten the side decks down. The new Infinity By X Factory CF chassis kit is available right now at fine hobby stores world-wide, with a suggested retail price of just $99.00! The XF I105 kit is complete with the CF chassis, all the other CF parts, aluminum stand-offs, hardware, and those great X Factory instructions. Each part is also available separately for spare parts. B5M owners can now Do The Math! Watch for other Infinity By X Factory items to appear soon. |

I got mine this week, but will be trying it out at the Torbay indoor track on Sunday, so fingers crossed it's an improvement

I have one for my car which I race indoors on high grip, removed it after a few races as it totally ruins the car, it's just far too flexible on high grip and the car handles like a plate of jelly, save the £70 and the work of refitting your standard chassis back on, if anyone wants one I will quite happily sell mine lol

Hopefully these pics will work..... This is it with the 3 gear and carbon chassis. The esc and motor are being replaced with the Reedy black box and m2 motor, but neither will be here before Sunday, so it's going to have to run like this for now.

The carbon chassis makes it loose at the rear, the 3 gear tranny makes it loose at the rear, with both ??????

I would be running the brass C brace and the shorty further back to get some weight over the rear

I've got the Orion square pack lipo to go in if I need a bit of extra weight, but I'll give it a go with a bit of extra brass in it as well. I've got the rear arm holders in brass, so could just change the inner one if needed.
To be honest, at my level of driving, I could drive a brick and still have a similar result lol I doubt I'll ever be an A final winner, but I do enjoy racing. If it works, great! If not......I can stick the other one back on it and lesson learnt Hopefully it will pay off when we go outdoors and back to lovely dry astro! Mendip is pretty bumpy, so hopefully the extra flex will work.

It deffo needs a few tweaks on the set up to get the best from it.
The square pack worked the best, but if I was going to run saddles or a shorty, I would put the brass C thingy in that holds the hinge pins. It felt like a completely different car, but I was racing with the same group of people as the last indoor at Torquay and finished a final up from last time. Cornering felt faster, but jumping was hard to get into because the car reacted drastically to any steering or throttle movement. I think it's far more suited to astro than a flat carpet track, but today was a good indication of what potential it's got on the right surface. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me it was a definite improvement

It's a shame to hear this chassis isn't so good.
I just couldn't get on with my B5M. I ended up selling it last year and bought B-Max2 V3 and now a YZ-2. It was definitely the right move for me. |

Your driving did not look too bad, at least you did not hit any of those turtles lying on their back!
I'm contemplating one of those chassis' for dirt. For high-grip I got the low rider conversion on the standard chassis. I only tried it yesterday, worked great for me. |
