Don't use lipo in the Tx, use LiFE battery. This is what I use
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...%20transmitter There is an official Futaba battery but not been able to find it. Part number is in the back of the manual. You can get the same receivers that come with the transmitter from here http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php...hv-2-4ghz.html I'm sure there are more options for you, but found these with a well known search engine.

FrSky TFR4 was Fasst compatible for the 3Grs, don't know if this carries over or not. The Futaba genuine receivers for the 4GRS aren't as ridiculously expensive as they were for the 3GRS so you might be as well sticking with them.

4GRS is FHSS compatible, the 3GR is FASST compatible, they both require different Rx's unfortunately.
As you say, the 4GR Rx's are a lot easier on the pocket.

looking at the dimensions for the recommended Futaba NiMh pack at 84x43.5x17mm then the Hyperion FG305-2080-2S transmitter pack at 78x41x17mm will certainly fit and is available at £22.95 from;
http://robotbirds.com/catalog/produc...oducts_id=4728 On the subject of mixing Tx an Rx manufacturers I have never been personally comfortable with, the Rx supplied with the Tx does give you the full telemetry functionality, if you need it of course and is not hellishly expensive either, for once! |
