All depends how far you want to take it?
If it's club racing, see what the fast guys run, pick up a good used chassis Xray, Yokomo, Tamiya TRF, Schumacher, VBC etc most will come with tuning parts if used. Get a used setup station and add a power system that fits in to classes you will run in I am an Xray fan but only really run small club meets now so not the latest chassis and my boys run my older cars so we can swap parts so I won't swap brands for a while!! |

Again go to local clubs and see what people are using, there's no major differences between all the top chassis, the Xray forum is great for setup sheets on all tracks, not sure about the other makes as never needed to look.

Get yourself a used Xray T4 (14, 15 or 16). Going rate will be £130 upwards, depending on condition and included spares and option parts.
They're a popular car, so you'll get help wherever you're racing. Also very strong so ideal for a newcomer to on-road. Go with the 17.5t blinky class to start with, you'll be amazed how fast TCs are compared to off-road. |

You'll find Hobbywing, LRP, Muchmore or Orca in most team cars and setups are generally on petitrc for ESC's
Lipo's as above with the addition of Intellect, EZpower, Orion and at club level Turnigy are a good and popular Last edited by beale; 20-07-2016 at 07:28 PM. |
