Saddles or Shortys for 4wd 1/10?
Hi there
I am thinking of getting a second hand 4wd 1/10 roller to play with. I already have a lot of 2s stick packs but these aren't really suitable for this application. Should I go shorty or saddle? I haven't picked a car yet, I'm thinking Yokomo, Losi, Associated, Hotbodies, something along those lines. I like the additional capacity of saddle since I'm just bashing but it seems hassle to get new charge leads and jumper leads and shorty is a little lighter. I will probably buy my first couple batteries (whichever type) second hand unless anyone can suggest a good new deal? I noticed that Nano-Tech (not tried Graphene) charges and balances much faster than my other batteries (mix of IP, Floureon, etc) at least in 2s stick. thanks everyone - just planning for now Zoea

If the car is designed around saddle packs, it then can be a bit unbalanced with shortie. However most of the recent cars are designed around shorty packs.
If you want a saddle pack car, without the hassle of different charge leads and jumper leads, square packs are an excellent alternative..

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
Assuming I go with the 2s shorty packs, what is a good model to look for second hand or maybe even new? Doesn't need to be this generation or full competition spec, just durable and fun. thanks again

You're going to open a jar a worms with that question as everyone will extol the virtues of their current ride. In my opinion all the cars are good in the right hands, the best way to choose is probably to go to your local track and see what people are running. That way you'll be able to get setup advice and help with spares.
