HELP - K2 Rear Drive Shafts & Stuff

IMG_6851.JPG Hi All 30 years since I have raced and have just bought a second hand K2 which looks in good condition but I am stripping down, checking parts and the build construction. Attached are two images on the left and right rear drive shaft, can anyones tell me why the pin is shorter in one of them, its not worn or broken, the only thing I can thing of is its a manufacturing fault? Thoughts please guys and girls would be appreciated, |

The top picture looks like a manufacturing issue not spotted by the previous owner to me.

Could be as it's used the seller has changed the pins in the drive shafts.
I regularly change mine as they wear

Just replaced the (embarrassingly) worn pins on my kf2se last night for the first time with the pins in the speedpack.
Didn't use any specialty tools, just a 3/32 socket(any small one will do), bench vise, hammer, and small punch. Heated the worn dogbone pin with a torch first as they were stubborn, popped right out in the vise once hot. Seemed to have been loctited. Used the punch to push the old ones into the hole a bit once the vise had got them flush. Then I seated the new pin with a hammer, and pushed the old one out and new one in using a vise/socket in one go. Then used calipers to center them. Original pins were offset within a tolerance of 0.10mm, was easy to get the new ones centered to 0.01mm. Took a fair amount of force to press the new ones in, but I'm not 100% confident that they'll stay in place without loctite. Have yet to run the car but I don't think they'll move.
