Default Racing next Sunday...2wd Regional...19th May...

Hi all...

So first big BRCA event at WORM next weekend...who's coming along to battle it out for BRCA SW 2wd regional glory?

Track pic from the last meeting (we will be changing the layout for Sunday though)...

I messed up my own personal calender and double booked myself so won't be racing...but will be there at the start to lay the track, book everyone in and get things running. Si Osbourne, Rick Evans, Kev Taylor and Paul Morrisey will be running things as usual though.

A few points to note...booking in will open a little earlier than usual at 8:30am...and closes at 9:30am sharp as we expect numbers to be a little higher than normal.

Racing will start at 10am and run to the clock all day so we get through the 4 rounds and finals in good time to get the long distance racers home in good time!

Only the 2wd class will be entering the regional, 4wd's and trucks will also be running as normal but will just be open racing.

As usual, parking by the rostrum and pits is limited to the club officials and cafe/trackside shop folk only. You can however park up and drop off your kit to the pits before you move your cars out to park on the triangle & grass areas. This ensures we have good safe access to and from the venue at all times throughout the day.

Since we expect numbers to be higher than normal, and volume of (big) cars to also be high as a result, could everyone please note that pitting by your cars on the grass/triangle is not preferred as it uses up valuable parking space! Please make use of the main covered pitting area first...there is plenty of space, and this should also keep things nice and sociable too!

For those travelling from farther a field, camping is available trackside on Saturday evening, and anytime for that matter, the landlord has camping onsite at all times anyway....just report to his office round by the Gas shop at the far end during office hours (9-5:30ish).

If you plan to arrive later than that, then PM me...the site is normally locked after office hours, so I can make arrangements for you to get onsite outside of that if your not a club member.

Post if your coming...be good to gauge interest!

I'm going to miss this unfortunately, just rebuilt my diff and fitted a new servo and no races for the next 3 week at least due to other commitments, what a bummer.

Although this is a 2WD regional so I imagine a lot of people will want to concentrate on one class; will people still be running short course trucks? I still want to run my new truck so was hoping others will too? Also my mate has just bought a truck so he is only looking to come as long as there will be a turn out for them

Just to clarify the transponder situation at WORM.

We are using the older style AMB RC2 decoder, so PT's that work include the MRT, 3 lug AMB, and Harry PT's.

We do not use the RC4 decoder so you cannot use the new Purcy PT's on our system.

Going off post but please bear with me as I'm fairly new to this but ref the last post is there a transponder I can by that will be suitable for WORM, Yatton and Tiverton, I thought I was going to have to buy an MRT and a AMB but the last post suggests not

Nope you don't need a seperate one for each club. You can buy any of the ones Andy mentioned; MRT, 3 lug AMB, and Harry PT's. I'm unsure if Tiverton have upgraded their timing gear or not but I know for sure WORM and Yatton you can get away with the ones mentioned above, would recommend the MRT

Tiverton are now using the RC4 system, so if you want a PT that works for all clubs, you'll need an old AMB 3 lug, or a Harry.

Purcy won't work at WORM or Yatton, and MRT won't work at Tiverton, so avoid those.

AMB are still selling Harry's I believe, but both Harry and the old 3 lug ones do come up for sale second hand.
