If it is placed well, a strong, short bridge would be OK. But it must be in a nice clear space so you can see the car as it comes out the other side.

I think the jump type cross overs are fine as long as there is a good run on both sides of the jump and the ramp is steep so you can get a bit of hight. I think these low 'wall hitting' types are no good, and even worse when there is very little run up / run down, if you know what I mean.

Having siad that, hats off to the guys that spend the time to turn up early and set it all out . In my day, we would have never have gotten away with just sitting there while just a few were setting out.

Rob. (with no avitar as I can't work it )

It's 5 carpet widths Mike.

Definately no bridges, you can't marshall under them safely as you can't be seen and cars end up under them without the marshall seeing them.

The problem with any track feature is marshalling it, especially for some of our younger less experienced marshalls (not to mention our less mobile more experienced ones!!)

You can guarantee that whatever track you have will end up with people crashing and needing to be marshalled in the most unlikely of places!

Curse you all, you've made me sound like a grumpy old health and safety nutter!!

Thanks I feel so much better for knowing that!
I won't be marshalling this week, I won't be racing either as I'll be too busy trying to sort my stuff out for the weekend up at Talywain

Hall will just squeeze 6 carpet widths in, but it rarely works out nicely squashed in that much.

The normal track area is about 20m x 12m for reference.

looks like lots of people have been converted to nationalising this weekend so numbers of the old skool will be down..

Andy, Dave, both Petes and now harris are all heading up.

I'll be staying all night tonight to help put out, pack up and roll carpet, anyone else coming and able to hang around at the end to pack everything away, sweep the floor and put the rubbish away will be greatly appreciated.

I'll be picking the keys up around 6.30 - just will be rebuilding my B4 and B44 ready for the weekend!
See you all there
