Default Cragg takes 4WD at Kidderminster - Lee and Neil share 4WD title!

Cragg pulled off a great comback in the final round of the 2012 BRCA 4WD 10th off road national series this past weekend. The 2WD series was already taken by Lee Martin at the previous round where Neil failed to score sufficient points to extend the fight for the title into the final round. The 4WD class was a little more open however - Lee Martin also had secured his name at the top but Neil Cragg had the chance to go equal on points and wins, meaning there would be nothing to seperate them at all.

Neil Cragg would have to TQ and Win the final round of the series and got off to a good start - taking the opening two rounds of qualifying before Simon Moss went quicker in round three to take the win, and Tom Yardy took round four. With the extra point for TQ in the bag - Neil now just had to win!
It was clear going into the finals that Neil didn't have the same speed through some of the sections as the likes of his team mate Tom Yardy or Schumacher rival Simon Moss - among others. And after taking the opening leg of the A finals, Neil had to settle for 4th in the second leg as Tom Yardy took the win. The final leg saw a close finish as Neil managed to cross the line just 0.3 of a second ahead of both Danny McGee and Simon Moss who were catching the Associated driver quickly.

The relief showed on Cragg's face as he absorbed what had just happened and the fact he'd managed to salvage the season with the 4WD title - albeit shared with Lee Martin.

This was the first time in the BRCA 10th off road history that the 4WD title has been shared between two drivers. Both guys had three TQ and 1st, and one 2nd counting. The BRCA rules say that if there's nothing to seperate two drivers after a 6-round series then they should share the honours.
It was another great national series and we'd like to thank all the people that helped make the oOple reports fun and informative (!). Please check out the full report on the race here:

The videos from Eden Park national are uploading as I type - once they are finally online the report will be online also.

Excellent job as usual , thought the banner was some kind of photoshop trick to start with. Unlike Simon moss' pink Welles which are obviously real :-)
