Default DVD's onto phone/tablet

Anyone know of any free software (that works) for ripping my own DVD's so I can drop them onto an SD card so I can watch them on my phone (Android).

Cheers,

Dan

Freemake stuff works well for me (windows), not sure about larger movies, but the 'downloader' is good on utube, the 'converter' has all the options and allows some snipping (thats mostly where it falls down for me). keep an eye when installing you have to opt out of silly toolbars etc.

AirDroid is also a nice app (on the google play store) for moving stuff back and forth, still in your price range

Then if the phone doesn't understand MKV's (no experience with Android ) you can convert them with Handbrake...
