For this one I decided to be different and paint her white - I have a new box art yellow Turbo Mid and I'm pleased I went for the white, I reckon it looks cool!
The car came to me with a new genuine Kyosho shell and genuine decals - usually I'd sell these and buy repro but to celebrate the build of our off road track here in Muscat I sprayed up the shell and whacked on the decals (felt wrong but I did it anyway). You may notice that the front OT90's are narrow, these have been cut down from the standard wide wheels and I'm running old W-5033's on them...but I also have some wides if I ever want to compare differences in handling. I left an old rear wing fitted in the pics, didn't want to waste the original wing decals on a tatty wing so am awaiting a new one to arrive which I'll spray and decal up. The picture of the ground is what donuts look like with W-5033's/OT-66's! I've installed an LRP IPC Digital ESC with a worn out Reedy Ti 11x2 and left the S148 in as it arrived.....such fun running her - I had my little girls with me so couldn't get great video but will soon and post the link ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0y3DR-IFWc Dan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Col; 09-01-2014 at 09:15 AM. |

What a great track to stretch out those vintage cars. Are you running gear diffs or ball diffs? I like gear diffs my self to reduce the maintenance. Do the tires wear out fast on that hard(?) dried out surface?

Hi Joel this is an unmodified (apart from the front wheels/tyres) Turbo Mid so has the kit gear diffs installed - to be honest these tyres were useless on the track surface, I think I'll have to resort to using some more modern rubber but it hurts to add 2.2" wheels to this beauty.

Make sure You only put synthetic oil in the engine, since its a turbo. We wouldn't want the oil to sludge up and cause engine seizure !
