Default Looking for a new 2WD

Yes, its another one of those "this or that" threads again. I have decided to have a change from the old B4 as I can't really get on with it. Don't know if its a lack of weight (I run LiPo) or just my driving "style" but I don't seem to be able to get the corners right. The back end always seems to have a mind of its own. I'm don't have a natural "chuck it in and boot it" style so perhaps this is where I am going wrong.

I'm considering a Losi XXX-CR or an RB5 but don't really know which way to go. I've seen that the RB5 is quite a porker but this could be a good thing. The popularity of the XXX-CR seems to have dropped right off this year - are they really that old-hat?

Any opinions? I have already considered an X6 but don't want to go there yet 'cos I am tight and try to get everything second hand if I can.

you could always just buy the x6 conversion kit instead of a whole x6 if you already have a b4, it will probably be cheaper than buying a whole car like the rb5 or xxxcr, not going to start a 'this is is better...' but can only say the x6 doesnt loose the rear end like a rear motor car like the b4 etc if you can give an X6 as much throttle into or round a corner as you like and it won't lose the rear end, it's planted and very forgiving if you make mistakes, I do think a B4 can be potentially faster over a lap if you get it right but the X6 is just easier to put consistant laps in throughout a race

RB5 is a good car. handles like a B4 with a stable rear end!

support should be better this year also with Woody and a few others running the cars

Sorry, I should have mentioned, I sold my B4 so an X6 is not the logical step without busting my budget.

Another X6 from me I have run the B4 for years until this season just gone and switched to the X6 fantastic car. My results have improved by a couple of finals easily.

On how you have found the B4 and what you are looking for in your next car.... I would say an RB5 all the way

rb5 or x6 you wont go wrong with either, i drove the x6 last year with very good results nationally, the team there will give you more setup help than anyother and the car is soooooooooooooooooo easy to drive, the rb5, ive had for a few weeks now, initial running shows it to be just as safe as the x6 to drive but with a little more midcorner pivot, ive run the rb5 with both nimhs and lipo and only had to adjust rideheight to get the same feeling from the car. your wheels and spares from your b4 will cross over onto the x6 and the cars can be found second hand on here sometimes, rb5s pop up as well so keep ya eyes open and grab whatever comes up first as you wont be dissapointed which ever way you go
