Hi everybody!
Looking to upgrade from my old DX3R, going for new stuff and around 250 or 270£. Which one of these two would you pick and why? Thanks! ![]()

I cant comment on the Spektrum , The MT44 is a great transmitter. Lots of functions , looks great and very reliable. Personally I have never had issues with any of my Sanwas nor have I known anyone to have issues.
You also have a great selection of receivers to choose from which are readily available , The antennaless 482 is my go to. |

no comparison. get the Sanwa every time, even a cheaper one. Every spektrum radio I've used has lag.
There was a reason Ryan Maifield used sanwa/airtronics and not spektrum radio gear when he was sponsored by TLR/horrizon hobby.

Thanks!
I've read about possible lag issues with Spektrum, but I thought it was a .. thing of the past. They claim 5.5ms response.. I couldn't find corresponding data for the MT44.

I had a mt44 and it was a great radio but I found it a bit small. For slightly more than your budget (£285) you can get the m12s rs for mb models and is a great radio and is slightly larger for my bigger hands.

The Sanwa MT-S is a great price point option: https://www.rccarshop.co.uk/radio-se...anwa-mt-s-rx-p I got one for my daughter. Even this lower end model is way better than any spektrum option. MT44 is also great. You sometimes see deals with 2x Rx. ![]()

Sanwa Stefano, went from a dx4r (with dsmr receivers) to a mt4s and the difference is night and day, not only on response.

Have to agree with the masses, i've a mt44 after using spektrum for 10 years previous.
The only thing i would recommend is to get yourself a lipo for it ASAP, it eats AAA batteries like its going out of fashion. I've a 3000mah IP battery as a main and a little 850mah as a backup, the 850 gives about 8 hours of use before needing recharged and the 3000 gives well over 20hours. I've had the 3000mah battery for about 6 months or so and have charged it twice, with racing every Friday night as well as every second Saturday. |

Just to add to my earlier post, i had a couple of Spektrums, one mid range, one top of the line then went to an M12.
The top of the line spektrum was good. But there's something about the sanwa, it just feels more direct. Even comparing with the DSMR/DSM2 Rxs, the Sanwa is better. And if you're getting through batteries, try eneloops. The ones in my M12 last about a month between charging, using 5 or 6 hours a week. (I'll still be getting a LiPo at some point, as the eneloops are really needed elsewhere!) |

Have you thought about the KO ex2?
I went from a spektrum dx4s (which was old, and not slow imo) The KO is easy to use and has an adjustable trigger for big hands |

The KO surely is a good transmitter, but I managed to put my hands on the MT44 and found it fits perfectly.
I'm not saying I've got kid hands but definitely they're not big! Cheers!
