I actually did this the other day with oven cleaner. Put the parts in a clear bag and some cleaner. Start to massage the parts and within a minute or so you will see the colour start to come off. Keep going until all the parts are bare, then empty into the sink and scrub them really well with a toothbrush and washing up liquid. My parts came up a treat. Don't get it on your skin, and wear glasses if you can, its proper nasty stuff.

I used oven pride and a toothbrush make sure you rinse it well after to remove all the cleaner off

used oven pride and it worked a treat, couple of minutes and back to clean aluminium.
