is any1 else having problem with the with the front diff loosing during racing wit in 3 min from starting the the cars running 2wd
any suggestions

Replace the diff nut - the nyloc section may be worn.
When assembling, make sure the thrust assembly is well greased - if it isn't, the added friction can work the screw loose. Also, assuming it is a Durga, make sure the diff has been assembled the right way, the manual is a little unclear about orientation and you can end up putting the thrust bearing on the wrong side. |

as the nuts come in a pack, with the screw, replace as a pair.
And as above, about diff build, it don't show it, but the diff gets turned over mid assembly.

found trust bearing had died expensive little buggers
ill replace the nut and screw 2 i think

If it helps, I'm using these thrust bearings in my DB-01 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...d=&mfe=sidebar and have had no problems with them for a couple of months. You can also get the from the RCBearing website too but I had the eBay link handy.
The bonus is they are separate items (2 washers and 1 ball race) so you can grease them up easier and they can go in either way round so you don't get the diff undoing itself problem ![]()

I´ve cut a piece of the #53577 urethane bushing and put it on the diff screw.
It protects the thrust bearing from dust. |

The little pinky reddy inserts that go in the one way out drives work a treat. keep all the dirt out...

if you want a cheap alternative to the eurathane bungs, you can use Filter Tips for rolled cigarettes.

It is the "little pinky reddy inserts" I also use.
It is the same part as 53577 TRF Damper Urethane Bushing. ![]() They cost approx $3.30 for 10 pieces. Will last forever... ![]() |

Jaad racing make 1pc ceramic thrust, they aren't cheap but you'll never need another one.
Both my 511 diffs seem to loosen off during a (mod) race, I hear people are stacking 2 nuts on top of one another to help with this. Another option is to use the diff nut from the 416 (part# 9804374) |

I have worn out one thrust bearing in my DB01, and I bought this when the car was first released, so the thrust bearing was very old.... When rebuilt, the thrust bearing was cleaned through, and well packed with grease. Do that, and they last ages and ages, if you skimp on the maintenance, even Ceramic bearings collapse.
I don't like the price of the replacements though, in the UK. Also, if your diff is built correctly, bedded in, and adjusted, it should barely need adjusting, if your constantly fiddling with it, the nyloc on the nut, and the screw need replacing, and they must be changed in a pair.
