Default DB01 (Durga) for the missus?

Am considering getting the lady into racing and i need to get something....sturdy. Have been advised to wards the DB01, but then looking at it it sems to e better than what Im running.
But what would people say? Is it resiliant enough do you think?
Are spares easy/cheap to get hold of?
What will be broken when crashed, I mean driven by the missus?

Matt

What sort of bits do you end up breaking? Wishbones, shock towers?
What sort of electrics do you let them run?

Overall the car is quite tough. Of course given enough power and bad driving, you can break anything. With this car, broken rear shock towers are the most common problem. The upgrade carbon-resin is stiffer, but this makes them more brittle. This issue can be avoided by mounting or trimming the wing so that it won't hit the tower in a flip.

I've experienced one bent rear shock shaft, and one broken front shock shaft (at different times). Both happened on a very large 8th scale track where I was traveling VERY fast (14T motor, Race ESC & lipo).

I've popped out a rear suspension hinge pin in crash once catching the rear wheel on stop-sign post. The plastic balls and plastic mounts in the standard kit allow a bit flex, so they will typically pop out in crash. This makes it easy to loose the balls and tiny spacers on the shaft. Metal balls and metal mounts make good upgrades. They will eliminate the popping out problem, but they can cause bent pins and/or broken arms instead. This is just the nature of things though. I love my Durga..

they are running 13.5 brushless with lipo.

bent the odd hinge pin, and done a wishbone, but thats three kids running cars, so pretty low carnage rate, just make sure you upgrade the suspension holders and front driveshafts.

My buddy never had trouble with his front dog-bones. He runs a 15T, Novak GTS and 3200mah Lipo. Just passing that on...

Sounds great, might get myself one while im at it, upgrade bits and bobs on mine and keep them as spares on hers. Anyone know the best place to get hold of one? And best sort of prices? Or better yet any one wanting to get rid of one? (not likely by the sounds of things)
Thanks guys

Matt

If you're already thinking of upgrades, you might want to look at the DB-01R.

It's got some expensive upgrades thrown in (but no shell).
