Have anyone converted their Ultima RB5 from ball diff to gear diff using the Ultima SC parts?
Thought I might try it this summer. I'm not that good with ball diffs ![]() |

Hey!
Ultima got one of the best balldiffs out there and if you sand the rings, use ceramic diffballs and use a lot of Schumacher diff lube you will be all set. smoooth ![]() |

Looked at doing this to try it but I really see no point ... I rebuilt the diff in the RB5 recently (ok about June last year, stock Kysoho plates with no sanding or such like, MicroTech supplied ceramic diff & thrust balls) and it's still silky smooth!!

So i'm buying my stuff for the summer season and thinking about my diffs.
I've got 4 pretty fresh diffs. (maybe 4-5 race days on them) and thinking about 1 rebuild for 2 for this summer. Which rings and balls to get? And whats grease? I looked at the B-fast, but that would cost like 50usd for me. Abit too much. |

I always use Kyosho diff rings and either Kyosho or MicroTech racing suplied carbide diff balls. As for grease I use the AE greases. For the thrust race I use the standard Kyosho BRG100 pack too.
Perfect diff everytime ![]() |
