Well,

My aim this year was to finish in the top 40, i managed this in both classes...

I also wanted to make the top 40 at the Euro's which again i managed.

End of season finals could have been better, but the main thing is i made top 10 in both classes and the Mid-South won the Regional champs!!!!

One of my biggest/best moments this year was helping Joe Cockill make the A at the F3's..... Proved he has the ability when he puts his mind to it!!!

Can't wait for next season!!!!

As a NE regional racer, my aspirations at the start of the season (as featured in the aspirations thread) were:

Im hoping to get some consistent B finals in 2WD and hopefully one or two in 4WD.

2WD I ended up with 2 A finals, and a couple of top 3 B final finishes. - so over the moon with this!

4WD I ended up with a B5 being my highest position, so fairly happy with this also.

Really enjoyed the racing season, now looking forward to club championship, indoor regionals, and Teesside Aces over the winter!

It's hard to sum up really........

Literally this time last year i'd just got an old B3 working with a couple of sets of tyres ready to run at Lee's winter series.

Then here i am a year later with a Brand new B4, brushless system and boxes of tyres and bits

It's certainly not anywhere near how i expected the year to go, but in a good way of course.

I was very pleased to have won the F2's - it was nice to know i could still compete at a good standard after a good 6 years away (and without even holding a transmitter).

Looking forward to carrying on through the winter and getting more and more used to racing again. Plus for me a lot of this stuff is new as my Dad used to do all my spannering and motor tuning etc

Has been good catching up with old friends and meeting some new ones too - the EOS finals were a great laugh.

i had a fantastic season

at the nationals

2wd (associated b4) i wanted to better on my 31 last year. had 1 b the year b4 so a couple of b's would of been nice but i got 4 in total plus that elusive A final ive imagined for so long lol so 2wd was a complete success this year ending up 13th overall

4wd (yokomo mr-4bx) i didnt get my f1 in this class last year so wanted to get it and prove that the yokomo can work lol. Which it did very well with a few modifications. made all c's and even got in the A final at stotfold (the only yokomo)and finished 3rd after the 3 legs ! couldnt believe that i still in disbelief now! managed 23rd which was beyond all expectations.

i went across to belgium this year first time ive been across the water with my racing. didnt really know wot to expect just knew there was a few of the top national drivers goin. so with this in mind i thought making the b in both classes would b good but i stuck both cars in the A final i think in 2wd i qualifed 5th and finished 5th. 4wd was sommick else qualifed 3rd but had a few breakages in the finals so ended up around 5th or 6th.

highlight of the year was getting a driver profile for racer magazine

so a great year for me i know ive gone on but this year has really got me hungrey for more racing. and mayb i can pick up a few sponsors as i havent got any at the mo!! OPEN TO OFFERS!!!

cheers grant williams

This season has been soooo much fun, i haven't drove a model car in ten years and after driving around my yard a few time i decided it would be good to race again!! Went to the mid west regionals not knowing what to expect and got an A final first time back.
The entire season was good, got my F2, finished 3rd overall in 2 and 4wd at f345 finals also made the A at F2's. Just one thing left to figure out now, and that is a cheaper way to get to the races!!(I didn't realise how much it must have cost my parents)
Thanks to all at the mid west for such a good fun year!!

I had every intention of moving across to a wheel radio and spektrum, I managed the spektrum bit, but in the due course of trying to drive with a wheel after 18 years of sticks, my driving suffered.

So, crap really lol

good season for me i feel!

Goal 1; winning national = i won 3! and a title! amazing!
Goal 2; Worlds A = I did it and qualified 6th! awesome!
Goal 3; Top 3 euros = DID IT! 2nd in 2wd...something im very proud of. but more so that fact i pushed neil all the way.
Goal 4; double at Belguim GP = WAHOOOO done it and in some style with stiff competition....

my most successful season so far....making me smile writing this!

I had a reasonable season, i finished 55th in 4wd at the nationals...... which is slightly worse than last year but i'm pleased with it, the competition has definitely got tougher over the 4 years that i've raced at the nationals.
I wish I could get more out doors off road practice as the only times i ever get to race outdoors is the 6 nationals meetings themselves! so i ususally find it takes me half of each day to work out whats going on with the cars.

How did you do in the season ?? Top mid west 2 and 4wd top under 16 very proud of that.
Did you reach your goals ?? or did you exceed them ?? My plan was to get F4 but i didnt get it very upsetting

Hapyy with my2wd juniors finish won the B why a long way and im happy with my 2wd f3's f4's f5's finish had a ace final just could have dont with as little more steering and i could have made a move on him.

This being my first full season of racing, I wasn't really expecting anything. As it turned out I somehow managed to get 8th place in the NW Regionals 4wd and an F4 grading!! Perhaps more importantly I had an absolutely TOP laugh with a bunch of great blokes and finally found something useful to do on a Sunday!

one word sums up my year

"SHOCKING"

I don't know why I had such a bad year, F5 in 4wd a few years ago I was 12th in the region.

I think I scraped F3 in 2wd.

Looking forward to trying harder next season!

At the start of the season I targeted getting up to F4 from F5 and also to make the A final at the F3,4,5's. Managed to achieve both of these so am fairly happy. Couldn't really get to grips with my 2wd this year. My 4wd season really took off when i went first to the xxx4 and then with the xx4. Shame it took vertally the whole season to realise that the Pred wasn't the car for me

Looking forward to working on the positives for next season and to also work on all the problems from this year.

I have had the best and most enjoyable season ever. really enjoyed running for and working with my new teams. (and also LRP again as my long term sponsor)

both my cars ran fantasic all year long, I can honestly say that the reason my cars didn't win a national or two was down to the driver.

electronics were ace all year, never short on power, adding 4.5 sintered from time to time for extra crazyness... thats fun

I had a really good year at the regionals. My aim was to improve my F3 which i did, gaining an F2 in both classes.
My other aim was to reach the A finals at the F3/4/5's after coming 4th at tiverton in 2006. This i sadly failed quite miserably, having one of my worst weekends of racing for a long time. So bad that i really couldn't be bothered to race for a few weeks after.

At the start of the season my aim was to retain my F3 and actually do enough regionals to count. I also wanted to make a final on the upper side of the 2nd A at a National (G) which I managed once last year. Then by the second regional I decided I was gunning for an F2... but after a D final that day I'd kind of given up on that idea again.

At the next regional I (somehow) made my first ever regional A and by some fluke managed my F2 which I'm WELL CHUFFED over... and it also means I'll only drop to F3 for 2009 (since I'll still be in Chile next Summer).

I didn't make my "other side" final but did make H2, H2, H-something... so you know... almost there!
