setup mini inferno shocks on lrp shark
hi,
i have purchased some mini inferno shocks for my lrp shark sc and was wondering if anyone else has done this conversion and if so what is the best set up... at the moment i have red springs on the front and blue on the rear and using shumacher 100 oil in all 4 shocks... should all arms on the shark be level, pointing downward or upward, (ride height) etc, would the shocks be better stiff or soft, at the moment when i turn corners at speed i get 1 rear wheel come off the ground a little bit and if i were to go too fast the car would turn over, also if i push my stick full on (full power) the front doesnt get as much steering response as i would hope as the front wheels tend to lift a bit on acceleration... i have a good servo, 9650 and am running a novak mongoose with a novak three 80 8.5 sensored... thanks for any help on setting up my shocks... ron |

Its not really a new conversion, most peeps go for the mini lst shocks which are a bit better size for the Shark than the mini inferno shocks.
Shock towers for them are available here - http://www.rcmodelimports.co.uk/com/...?cPath=363_176 and info on shock setup here - http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/in...howtopic=15176 HTH |

Hi
ive been running mini lst shocks on the shark for a while now the reason its lifting a rear wheel is that the red springs are softer than the blues, they should be the other way round ive found the best setup for me is white pistons drill two 1mm holes two 0.8mm holes that are already there 4 in total, 30wt front 25wt rear oil and limit the droop on the front by about 5mm spacer(i run hardly any droop on the front 2-3mm), the black springs are the same as the green on the std shocks go, softer on the rear if needing more rear grip hope this helps a bit

thankyou, done all of the above you suggested but i also added approx 6mm spacer inside the shocks and now the arms are level so i have a lower body which i have been told i need as i run the car on carpet with gecko foams on..
i will test it out like that and remove the spacers if not ok, thanks again for advice on oils etc |

changed
thanks again for the advice given but i originaly tested it on a bit of rough land and i have now changed the setup again as my shocks were too bouncy from the setup advised as where i race is on a flat carpeted track, although it did ride well, but the car didnt hold to the carpet too well,
it would be the perfect setup if i was racing on a track with jumps or a dirt track outside but as i was racing on a flat carpeted track i was advised to go 100 front 80 rear, but i have gone 100 rear and 10,000 diff oil in the front and wow what a difference on the flat carpeted track, although i will probably put 1,000 or 2,000 in rear pretty soon or i will put the 10,000 in the rears and buy 20,000 or 30,000 diff oil for the front shocks...... |

Hi Ron glad they worked out for you,not everyone gets on with them
A couple of updates if your interested,i now run these springs http://www.rcmodelimports.co.uk/com/...oducts_id=2762 on the front and these http://www.rcmodelimports.co.uk/com/...oducts_id=2763 on the rear, also by fitting one northy white seal nearest the piston http://www.nortechracing.co.uk/ from here, they dont leak
