Talking AE RC-10 "GRAPHITE" car

HI!... Well since I'm still whitening parts for my "CE' build and waiting till the powder coaters opens back up after the holidays, I decided to start rebuilding a RC10 "GRAPHITE" car.

HI!... Well I'm waiting for new bearings to show up from AVID for the 6 gear trans, plus all the white parts are being whitened. So I cleaned up the graphite chassis.

HI!... Well I got the RC10 "Graphite" car mostly put back together today. Still have to put the 6 gear trans back together and the front wheels but I need to wait for my AVID bearings to get here.

HI!... Well the bearings showed up a few days ago and I finally had a chance to work on the RC10 "Graphite" car again.

The back wheels are a bit rough. I got another new set on there way. Still have to trim the body and paint it. Still wish I could find a decal kit for the Graphite car..... hint.... hint....

HI!... Well since no one currently makes a PRO-TECH II body that I need to make this Graphite RC10 restoration complete, I decided to just go with a "Viper" body for now. I trimmed it all out tonight. It's just ready for paint now. Oh and I have to get the proper wing for this thing ????

Looks v.nice! Got one of these to do myself sometime!

Very interested in what you do with the white plastic, they look like new! Could you let us know how you get them back to what looks like new (without finding new parts!), maybe even better?

Thanks!

HI!... Whitening process is this :

- Clean the parts in CLR kitchen/bathroom cleaner. I usually let them soak in it for a few days.

- Then go out and buy a few bottles of Hydrogen Peroxide (3%). You can get this pretty much at any drug store.

- Pour the H/P into some glass bowls wrapped with aluminum foil. Put the shiney side towards the bowls.

- Submerge the white parts in the H/P.

- Get a true Ultraviolet light. Pet store are the best place to find these. Usually near the reptiles. 26 Watt is what I use.

Install the light in a small desk light. Set the light above the bowl (S) as close as you can. Let sit for 3-5 days depending how white you want them.

Some guys just put the bowls/jars out in the sun. I find the U/V light set-up is better.
