Default help me plz very confused(scrt 10)

hi guys ive got a scrt today and ive had abit of trouble already! The esc is overheating and the auto cut-off is kicking in, ive got a 5000ma lipo and 540 5.5t ezrun motor and the ezrun 60a esc . It runs it for about 2 to 3 minutes and then overheats the esc I've read its because the scrt is alot heavier than normal 1/10ths like my mad rat and it causes the motor to work harder and pull more amps. I don't have the cash to buy a new motor and/or esc atm so looking for a solution for this.

Is it posable to gear it down, I dont mind losing some top speed, just as long as it doesnt over load the motor and cut out every 2 minutes?

you could try turning down the power on your ezrun, gearing down and what not, but unfortunately, these need an 8th brushless unit to run right.

You have the wrong equipment for the application.

It's like trying to power a monster truck with a morris minor engine. That speedo/motor combo would be ideal for you madrat but is sound like your asking a little to much of it. Especially with a 5.5, if you want to kepp to speedo try putting a milder motor in it.

The 5.5t motor is only suitable for onroad cars with that speedo.

Your doing the same as that bloke, overloading your esc capacity.
You need a8.5t motor before you fry the speedo.

Try that or maybe one even slower like the 9.5 or 10.5?

Look up the 3660 3400kv motor on Giantcod - £16!

Unfortunately, it pulls 89A peak, so would need a 100A+ ESC too. £50+ used for a Mamba Max Pro, LRP, Nosram, Speed Passion GT etc.

Edit: Check the ESC is happy running a sensorless motor first before buying. IIRC, the Novak GTB assumes the motor is brushless if no sensor wire is detected and fries the motor. Others might too - I know Speed Passions are fine, they run nearly as well sensorless.

Your only option is to buy an 8th esc like http://www.hobbywing.com/english/Art...?ArticleID=457

This is just the ticket imo; http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...inder_sct.html
Description- www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOWf3P9D41Y
It's getting rave reviews Left, Right and centre. So much so that i've ordered one myself.
It's available for less than $100 on eBay and is worth it just for the beast of a motor.
