Default A1 Racing Club 1/10th/SCT Sun 8th May

I am pleased (and relieved) to announce that A1 Racing club (near Grantham, Lincolnshire) now has the brand new 1/10th track finished.

To open the summer race season there will be an open meeting on this Sunday (8th May)

1/10th Offroad electric 2WD and 4WD buggys, 2WD and 4WD SCT classes.

slightly different format for the first one, gates open at 8:30am, open practice from 9am till 12pm, booking in closes at 12:15pm and there will be 3/4 rounds of heats and finals in afternoon starting at 12:30pm.

number of rounds depends on driver numbers with this being the first use of the track.

£5 per head all day,

perfect opportunity to get some practice in for the Mid East 2WD Regional on 12th June or the SCT National (25th Sep) or Short Course Carnage 2011 (14th Aug)

Club details available on ME-OR website or www.A1RacingClub.com

any questions please PM or post here,

Weather is predicted to be a scorcher so help us make the most of it and get the track bedded in

Apologies for announcement being short notice and the track build taking longer than anticipated but there has been some serious work put in and a few dramas along the way on our site to be able to offer this level of facility.

weekly outdoor club meetings kick of next Tuesday, you are all welcome to join us, details available on websites mentioned.

Mark

Hi matey,

we will be releasing some dates asap for sunday meetings, although squeezing them in between us out running regionals and SCT nationals is tricky until we get heads together.

We will be open every tuesday evening if you want to give the track a blast.

Here are a few teaser pics, first is a before shot with a rough plan guide layout and the others were taken a week ago when Astro was being cut in... track markings will be laid this saturday ready for sundays meeting

Integrating a 1/10th track into a 1/8th track so both classes can be run with a few markers switched out and keeping everything BRCA legal spec has been interesting and hopefully we have pulled it off to give hours of fun for both classes

hopefully see you soon matey

Cheers buddy, your comments definitely appreciated, would have been over to try your new track out but you will understand how much graft goes in to buildng these things and you have visited our site so know what was there already... on reflection it would have been easier to bulldoze the lot and start again... got a 1/8th track to do the same with too

Are you running a club meeting or practice on Sat before regional? got a 22 on day of release and its still sat without tyres and paint!

Look forward to it Wes, it was only light duties this tuesday night, suprisingly had around 30 helpers though, hence meeting this weekend, big thanks or the help with Astro pulling last week

We open gates at around 5pm, racing usually starts at 6:45pm,

although for the next few weeks we may have to start a bit earlier with daylight hours.

On tuesday nights we will be running 1/10th electric 2wd & 4wd buggys, 2wd & 4wd SCT's and 1/8th nitro buggys/truggys.

we would love to see 1/8th electric buggy class building up so encourage them to try our track.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that despite some heavy rain last night, track and site conditions are perfect.
See you all soon.

Thanks for the comments Dan much appreciated, you are very welcome and glad you enjoyed the track, the feedback was really appreciated too mate.

well worth the effort put in as today was a very short notice shakedown meeting, will definitely be over early friday to get some laps on the 2WD before its used in anger.

You are also more than welcome Dave, was nice chatting to you yesterday and i hope to see you at a meeting soon, will definitely be over to play on the grass track asap, will make a nice change after the astro laying dramas on our track.

Unfortunately just didn't get time to get the 22 or any of the other 2WD's in bits on my bench running for today, but it will be sorted tomorrow... although was keeping everyone entertained with the worst SCT 'driving' ever seen... one of my trucks went faster on 3 tyres than 4 (yep, really that bad!)

For everyone that has shown interest, tuesday evening meetings will be starting this week and we'll be kicking off racing around 6:30pm, with practice available from 5pm, you are all very welcome

Hi matey,

We have only been running 1/10th classes since middle of September last year.

we were averaging 35-40 1/10th drivers with a fairly even split across 2WD and 4WD buggies, these meetings were not advertised or pushed at all as there was a last minute site track building change at our venue by the owners employing a less than interested 'manager' and the facility was smaller than first promised to us which meant we wouldn't have coped with large turn outs but managed to squeeze everyoneinto a small pitting area and get 4 rounds of racing in a night.

We are hoping for similar numbers at the new outdoor track although welcome as many drivers as possible for some competitive racing.

You are welcome to come and try us out, if you don't have a buggy atm then i have a spare Madrat that you could have a go with if you wanted to put your electrics in etc to test out the track. (obviously on a you pay for any broken parts basis)

We offer a 24/7/365 track access perk to club members at £30 per year Jan to December, so you don't just have to wait for our meetings to get use of the facilities i you wanted to get your buggy driving up to speed after driving the 'tin' tops

Race fees for club nights or 2011 outdoors season are:

1/10th electric: £4 for members, £5 for non members

1/8th nitro: £5 for members, £6 for non members

there are some pics, will let you know when they are available, didn't get chance to get any personally.

Hope to see you soon
