Hi All, is there a rear hex wheel adaptor set for the 201X? If so, does anyone know the part number?
Thanks. |

There is one from a Japanese manufacturer i think. I bought them some time ago because i wanted to test the DF03 wheels on my DB01R. I never mounted them because they make big changes to the width of the wheels and i didn´t want that. Why would you want hex adapters on your 201? All current Tamiya, Asso, Losi, JConcepts... wheels use pins.
Do you want to rung vintage wheels? |

I cant believe they still make pins for the drive wheels.
There is no better system than a hex. Kyosho, Team C, Hot bodies, and all Touring cars use hex's. AE, yokomo & tamiya need to get with the times. |

It is not true Tamiya and others are not getting with times. Tamiya already had hexes for many years in the 80s and 90s on all buggies they produced but the pressure from the American companies like Losi (using the hex- pin system) was great and so they went with the times and made this system for their TRF buggies.
Every class is different. If you race 1/10th buggies today you would be am ansolute minority to produce hexes for front and rear. I like the system and in oppsite to earlier Tamiya years you can now use many other manufacturers wheels too which is a positive thing i think! |

YES kyosho rb5, zx5 team c 2wd,4wd losi 22 hot bodies d4 NO associated b4, b44 losi 4wd tamiya 2wd,4wd durango yokomo this is just from the top of my head, without much thought into it. So to say hex's are the minority is incorrect. I would say they are now pretty much evenly split. In fact, of lately the associated cars which dominated numbers 2 years ago and in fact the minority these days. So why bother putting hex's on the front, and not the rear on some 4wd's? I think in 10 years time, pins would be obsolete. |
