Default new engine starting trouble....help!

hi all,
i've just got a new engine and am struggling to get it started to run it in

my smd starter box is ok but it doesn't take many tries before the starter box won't turn the flywheel.
the engine turned over for 5 secs but didn't fire up a couple of times

the battery in the starter box is a 12v 7.2Ah Yuasa battery...but i have now connected it to my new 12v 120Ah battery but that hasn't the umphh to turn the engine over, it's now on charge

what am i doing wrong?

thanks

best thing to do is heat the head up with an old hair dryer to help free up the motor to turn over easier............could always wrap foil around the head and form a tube shape tall enough so you can direct hot air from the hair dryer down the foil type tube............will have to do it for a while t get it hot enough !!!

check out the RC Sure Start engine heater

Also engine could be flooding/over primed if the box fails to turn it over.

I made a crude engine pre-heater using a small sweetcorn tin (lol), a 12v H7 car bulb mounted through a hole made in the top of the tin connected to some wire/crocodile clips from an old car battery charger, within 3-4 mins it heats the engine to the point at which i can't touch it. See thread: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...645#post508645
I used it whilst running in a new engine recently & it never failed to start on the 1st attempt, just an idea
