I've just set my 502X for grass track with the following
front
Associated silver springs and 35w oil

Rear
Associated green springs with 30w oil.

This setup was perfect. I got a full spring set front and rear from modelsport, about £10per set. Well worth it as you get 5 sets of spring per pack.

I'm running a 21t pinion. Good balance of speed and acceleration.
