Just finishing the build and obviously will run on kit settings to start but what seems to work for most people?
Mainly driving on astro.

I'm sure Alec will be on here later to post his setup. I know he's swapped the diff gears to metal ones as I ordered them in for him, and done a few other mods. Looks like quite a good car. I was impressed with the X2C.

What metal gears and how much do you charge? Also are they needed or just a 'team option' part?

I think a couple of guys have shredded the diff gears, this prevents that from happening. They are off a Caster car but fit as direct replacement. They are £17.50 each set and you need two sets.

Thanks

Matt

These are the gears that I have supplied to some on the guys running Ansmann, not sure if they use both or just the pinion:

Speak to Jason Bennet, he found a solution to the diff stripping problems .... basically throw the instructions away and shim them as if it was a Predator ... job done!

Ive been running the car nearly every weekend for over 4 months now and have not had a single gear fail. Still on kit gears.

Optional gears are just hop ups, Ansmann do a kevlar gear set which would aid lifetime but i guess the caster ones are fit and forget.

And ill try and get my setup online when im infront of car

The X4TE doesnt seem to have the problem with the diff/bevel gears like the X4-Pro had.
Mine has also been used every week for the last 5 months with no probs whatsoever, pretty much bullet proof stuff.

I,m using the kit settings, indoor carpet mainly.

I went through 2 diff gears in one day in my X4pro (rear diff only) but i put that down to using a different grease

had no problems before or since

have since changed the rear gearbox case to the X4Te, which has improved drive

Damn this things quick, need to settle the handling more to my liking, seems susceptible to roll at high speed but I don't want to disturb the slower speed handling - do the roll bars work?
