Default Brand new mardave cobra never been run

Ye u did read it right my dad has just walked in with a slightly faded mardave cobra box under his arm,so i open it up nd theres a pretty brand blue chassi in there so tha put a smile on my face, after going right the way through it theres enough spares to build 3 cars. But further inspection reveals some "red" bits thats when my eyes light up.so i picked up the 1st of the red bits to find the servo saver and other post aswell, but then dad picks up a bag with some metal plates and 2 red discs and a spur gear? We later worked out its only a bloody slipper clutch (never knew they made cobra's with slipper clutches) and then dad pulls out another bag with the same red bits nd discs and spur. So all in all not bad for 80quid

Geuss ill be putting the slipper on my race cobra,nd geuss we most prob build up one cobra with the unraced chassi dunno bought putting the slipper on or wat as we only got it tonight, but if n e one intrested in a unmarked unraced cobra let me no. Ow ye also forgot we found wat looks like the old bobs board set sppeed controlers except theres 4 of them and there brand new and attached to the plate that would make it fit onto the cobra.

I no some of this should really b in the for sale section but it not technically for sale yet lol plus im gotta build it all first lol

Now i no ur all guna say weres the photos well dnt wrry gimme a day or 2 nd ill put em up.

So wat yall think? Plz positive comment plz as i no its only a cobra and not a rc10 but its still a kul find dnt u think?

sounds like a tq or se spec. Not bad. If its a tq it will have a better diff.

if my memory serves me, the yellow chassis was the sport and the blue was the tq. I have the purple chassis which is the newer se. I use the carbon chassis on mine as it dosent bend and looks nice.

I think fibrelyte do a cf chassis and possibly a front shock tower too.

fibrelyte make the towers and the chassis but the chassis was difficult as i had to pester them abit. They found the mould for the chassis for me and made it. It cost nearly 100 quid and took 4 weeks to arrive. You have to really be a keen cobra fan for that. The standard se chassis is fine. I made a mid motor cobra a while ago. If i can find pics i will post them.

what i did to my cobra was take it to extremes. The rolling chassis owes me over 300 quid. (i am not joking either).

Thanks for the info on the chassi adey,im not flushed with money (not saying ur rich or sumit sarcy) plus im guna stick a rally cross shel on it or a lorry shell on it if i ever get some momey to get my hands on one lol.any offers to buy me one or donate me one will most greatfully accepted lol

the tq spec released in the early 90s had a clutch and so did the newer se. The gearbox wont take a 6.5 unless you put a pin through the idler gear, change the driveshafts and use a better diff. An early tq diff may be ok but its asking alot from it.

its not that hard to sort out the gearbox and the cobra is so light a 6.5 is probably abit too much anyway. I tried mine with a brushed 11x2 with a lipo and it was a rocket.

You could always stick the 6.5 in the B4 Jay and turn the throttle endpoints down on your transmitter!

tried that up at caldi and in the end it was just to much for me i was brakin half way down the straight lol its just to much of an animal for me in the b4 mate, but with the cobra i feel abit more confident of not braking it with the "bend the chassi straight over your knee" system that u run with a cobra lol

What even with the endpoints turned down?

Ah the old "adjustable kickup" chassis - would you finish the race with the same degree as what you started with?!

you would have to have a good impact to bend the se chassis, i havent bent one. As far as the motor choice goes, i would just modify the gearbox to take anything. Its not that hard to do. If you want, i will send you a pm with my number jayslim and explain in detail how to do it.
