Does it really make all that much difference which way round you fit the diff in the Cougar SV? i.e grub screw on the spur gear side or diff screw on the spur gear side?

No it doesn´t.
You will of course get the answer that it matters but if you look close and think of what happens in a diff when it is working then you will realise that in either direction it will do exactly the same thing.. Cruise

Thanks guys, just re-affirmed what I thought. It's just I had someone tell me last week that I had the diff in the wrong way round, but I couldn't for the life of me see how it could make any difference.

No difference, but I tend to always put the grub screw on the left, so i can find it easily for adjustment.
