i do understand been there tried that over the years and we've had no joy.
i think the council could be the best option.

Just take a look at this thread guys: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8565

There are no hard core racers anymore who are prepared to race in the rain! If the club doesn't have enough members who attend regular then the venture will fail as you can't rely on non club members to keep it going.
Good luck, but it's going to be an uphill battle!

Yes, Councils and Lottery have been tried over the years - many years.

Take Durham City Council for example - we went through hoops for them, looked at all the sites the Leisure Dept offered, paid, yes we paid, for planning use etc only to be told by planning that they did not want us where Leisure Dept offered us ! Another reason DCMCC became NERCR
With councils I think it's a matter of moving them on from talking the talk to anything past a crawl !
Chris P is doing an excellent PR job with South Tyneside Council - but if anyone else has a relative, or blackmail evidence on someone there please do contact him and offer assistance.

Lottery - yes there was a club not too many miles from where I am sitting, no sure if they still exist, who put a submission together for a Lottery Grant, strangely similar to the presentaion GNS & myself had been submitting to Councils. They received a small grant and purchased a very expensive laptop I understand.
At that time I believe these Lottery Grants max'd at £5k

Thats one success story, hopefully there will be more :-)

On my way to work i travel passed a auto grass track and a moto x track. Both of these are used probably once a month , ive always wondered if it would be possible to incorperate a small track for us in there land.

Im not saying just these venues but they must be others somewhere like it, and most of the facilities are already there for us.

Whatever you do Chris P dont let nobby do any track building as he will put carpet everywhere and make it flat so he can use his 12th car there.LOL!
Really looking forward to this going ahead but depending when it is giong to be suggested to be used then im not getting too carried away.Suppose it will be every Sunday. I will get murdered off the wife if im away racing every Sunday.

how about looking outside of south shields??? It is an ideal location but would somewhere else not pull more people like say durham for instance.? more people from teeside and maybe even york and bately might make the journey. If it was Somewhere close to the A1 or A19. That would make it more of an equal distance for everyone to travel... I can walk to the bents park from my house but i would be prepared to travel alot further for a really good turn out...

neil...
