When i first got an orion motor it kept coming out the back of that, the only way i could stop it coming out was by super glueing it in, so i couldnt think of a way of keeping it in the speedo.

Ye, and with a novak motor they would be no way of splitting the motor from it, not sure, you could try bluetack, it worked on my motor for a while, might be more affective on the speedo.

How about making the plug a little thicker by putting a layer of celotape over it at the back where ther are no contacts? That way it would sit a little tighter...

Actually, have you tried a light silicone sealant? Would hold it and would be easy to remove if needed!

Screw fix do some in a squeezy tube so easy to carry too.

Try shoe goo an American product which you can get here in the UK. Then you do not have the issues of head as you do with the hot glue gun and it can be easily removed. It has a variety of all other uses as well.
