I wouldn't encourage indoor F gradings...

As outdoors, racers travel far and wide following the series conscious of ranking and gradings - but the clubs suffer as they have few dates left in the calender and the free ones people want to practice elsewhere... i.e. Bury had 10 racers last weekend, as the racers doing the Southport national decided (and rightly so) to go to practice for last oportunity of practice.

Indoors, the clubs need the loyal club racers. Bury is going to hold another awesome race series and any changes to current structures through the winter would put a huge dent in the attendance levels - which would soon close the club , and any more importance added to the series would put another hurdle up for potential new classes like Short Course10 trucks.

Im sure there are other reasons too, if you want the official answer. Visit www.BRCA.org and email Paul Worsley, he is always very fair, clear & precise in his answers.

Thanks
Chris

It's just the way it is, unless you did the tiverton winter series. I think a lot of people see the winter as a bit of time off and a bit more relaxed. If you think about it those who do nationals start running outdoor as soon as they can, feb/march time for most. then they are travelling to national tracks for testing. regional races come upon us so fast as do nationals then there is the euros and the worlds for the elite. I think 12 months racing is just too much for some. Plus would we really want to dilute the competitive series that we have, such as bury/worksop/regionals/indoor finals/players/petit/mkgp. the list goes on. You can always find somewhere to race over the winter.

I'll be coming and I've roped a new driver into coming too.

Well I had to. The only way I can avoid being last is finding someone slower......

This all seems to of got out of hand if i say so myself!

The way i look at it is what ever dates are arranged so be it, and what that has to do with any other region or club i really dont know.

I remember back years ago when there were loads of different championships and clubs around doing pritty much the same thing and the good thing was that it let new people win and not the same people you see and hear about on the net and in the mags!

I might be shooting myself in the foot here if so so be it

Bury indoor championship is great fun and at a great venue easily as good as worksop! Anyone who hasnt been get down there!

At the end of the day if an event clashes with another then thats the way it goes, you can never be every where you want to be your only one person!

Good on you Caro 6 rounds il be at every one

Lee and I were talking about this Thursday night. Bury puts on such a storming indoors series its almost like summer is the 'off season' whilst waiting for the winter to start!

Besides, whilst much of the complaint here is the 'big' winter series reduces numbers on club days, Bury has the opposite problem in summer. Summer club meets are normally about a dozen people as everyone else is off doing regionals for every other region etc. Winter is when they get the punters in and get the good turnouts. Indeed, I'm fairly sure Bury outdoors would have stopped were it not for the success of Bury indoors.

Bury NEEDS to be selfish about this. Other clubs happily deplete its club days in the summer, why can't Bury do the same in the winter?

I`m quite new to the racing scene.

Not everyone wants to travel far and wide to race!

Myself , i require a local club and racing venue so Bury it is because its local for me.

Just like to say i totally agree with Si`s comment above and it`s all abit petty saying to cut the rounds because it detracks from other venues!

The more rounds the merrier i say!
