It all depends on what you want to spend. Set an overall budget, and I'll come up with something.

I would suggest one of these chargers, if you need it to run on AC and DC - this can charge at up to 8A, has an inbuilt balancer, and has a power output of up to 120W, so you'll be able to actually use the advertised charge rate! If you already have a power supply, I'd suggest one of these chargers. It can do 10A, will easily charge and balance two packs at once (though 6 packs at once is possible!), and has a 180W power output.

These two chargers can also make use of a LiPos' 'faster than 1C' charging capability.

I have used Fusion chargers (and own two), and they are just excellent chargers, and good value.

As for the battery, I would suggest Trakpower's new Dark Series 40C 5000mAh, or Thunderpower's Pro-Race 40C 5000mAh pack. I own a Thunderpower pack, and must say that it is fantastic, though I accept, they are not widely available in the UK. I would get a Trakpower, either the 5000mAh 40C at £84.99 or the 3600mAh 35C, at £59.99. Either would be an excellent choice, though the 5000 is preferable, partially because you won't have to add so much weight, and also because you have more capacity. It will also be slightly faster, as it will suffer less voltage drop under load than the 35C pack.

Hardly a step forward though. You can't just cling onto the same old chargers. With 5C batteries, we are still slugging along with 5A max.

20A is the future!
