Default worth paying the extra for a Servo?

Last year I bought a SAVOX SC server for around £50.

Im looking to buy a new Servo for my Cat SX - just wondering is it actually worth forking out £50 again? or could I get away with a £20-£30 servo?

Whats the difference between a £30 and £50 servo? (and dont say £20 )

We(owen my son and myself)always used the savox metal geared £30ish servos...we thought they were perfect until i got owen the digital version(£55ish)..first time he used it (indoor club)he instantly noticed how smooth and progressive it was..he now dislikes the cheaper ones he runs in his other cars and when funds allow i'l replace them all. So imo you get what you pay for

Agreed. Cheaper servos are cheaper because they skimp on the expensive bit - the electronics. As Pops has said, the better servos are a joy to drive, and the cheap ones are a pain. In 12th, the cheap ones show up as being poor at centreing, and inaccurate. Basically, if it's not a high-end Futaba, JR, Savox or KO, it is not usable in 12th. I found the same when I used to race Off-Road and TC - the high-end servos were the ones that gave the best service and the best control. In those classes I always used KO, and in 12th I always use Futaba. HTH
