Thats a real shame,they were going well with the bike too.
It does highlight that the organisers and everyone involved with safety/marshaling etc needs to know how to deal with a chemical fire with these ingredients,16 fire extingushers is no good at all,the fire wants to be out in one. The battery manufacturers need to give more info with the batterys should the worst happen.
