Carb Cleaner on Brushed Motors

Does anyone know if I can safely use the carb cleaner that comes in an aerosol can to clean my brushed motors?

I have a full tin in the garage and no motor cleaner and yes I have already been called a pikey for being too cheap to go and buy the proper stuff!
