Mini Inferno
Is the Mini Inferno to big for UK Micro rules?
I fancy a go at Micro after watching the Supercross vid but can't decide what to go for. |

Hey craig - take my advice and avoid! The BLAZE is the only car to have that i've seen, and I narrowly missed out on the A final the only time I raced with it at the Micro Challenge. It was a great little car. The Kyosho cars I saw going round (which were in a different class at that time - I think now they all run together) looked a bit pants to be honest. The FTX Blaze was the absolute dominant force.
I will be running the Tamiya cars but again - they aren't a patch on the Blaze in terms of performance - but at least they don't look like an 8th buggy. |

I have a bit of an idea which the Mini inferno and the KM conversion would have fitted into perfectly... maybe I'll have to re-think it.
I wonder if I can fit the KM slipper and motor mount in between the gearboxes on a Blaze.. hmm |

Mini S4 There is also a rc18 conversion for a mid motored car so you could possibly use part of that as it would be a similar size.

Hello!
The 2nd round of the BRCA micro nationals were held at Stafford today. The top 3 cars in both the A final Modified, and A final pro-stock were all FTX blaze's (or blaze ST's). It is definitely the micro to have at the moment. In fact, I think the whole of the top 10 of the pro-stock class were blaze's. |

Or be a little different and run something other than what everyone else is running. Jimmy is right, the stock Inferno's are totally pants BUT the Mini Inferno with KMRC chassis could be very competitive in the right hands (which until I get some more practise is not my hands ). And yes, they do fit the criteria. I raced mine today.
Have a little look at my ongoing project: http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/in...opic=9358&st=0 The KMRC kit is only $99 and is incredibly good quality, the slipper is amazing, on the whole better quality and manual than the Exotek kit (I have both) and cheaper spares. You would need a RTR Inferno kit (£60 some places) and some upgraded diffs (Atomic balls diffs or Mini Inferno 09 metal diffs) if you want to go brushless. But, if you want to win the Micro Nationals then you'll need a Blaze or an RC18 because for the moment there is no 1/16 specific or open class and the Inferno is about 250grams heavier than the other cars but comes of better in a tussle and is more stable in the rough stuff. |
