8racing have a normal one and are now testing the +8mm one.
Tresery are testing it along with Hupo I think. |

Looks like the carbon is cut on the bias??... might result in a flexure effect when torque is applied.

Read the post on the CF chassis on rctech
Jhonny5 has both but he runs RM on clay and dirt. Not sure how to find it will be better on astro or carpet |

Yeh, read that. But like you say, RM on Dirt not MM on Astro, which is my main surface!!
I also wonder if the plastic side pods and bridging structure around the servo allow the extra flex of the material to be even detected? |

With the 8-Racing chassis we have you can definitely feel a bit more flex just twisting it in your hands. Reliability has been excellent though as we have been running the car on a large outdoor track with jumps suited to 1/8 nitro and the chassis shows no sign of fatigue or cracking. Overall the car feels better in every aspect- more nimble yet planted in the corners, accelerates harder on corner exit, and jumps nicer as well. I attribute most of the benefit to shaving 50+ grams off the overall weight, but I'm sure the additional flex is aiding the cornering efforts too.

we tested both alloy and carbon, the alloy flexes already, if you look closer. Hupo said at the Euros, that carbon is too much flex for steering, so it cost him places, because he had to steer more often in a turn. Jörn drives alloy but 8 mm +.
You have to think about it for choosing both chassis, but if you take the carbon one you will need harder oils and springs, because the chassis makes the dampening. I prefer alloy, because of better handling, low center of gravity. But its more weight. |
