Will someone be building some jumps/obstacles like the indoor off-road tracks in the Midlands? A few wooden jumps could easily be installed/removed between the usual on-road heats.
Also it would be fun to have a 1/10th indoor off-road class, what are the chances of this? |

We did look at 1/10 indoor, but little tight so as their aren't many micro clubs in the south thats why we chose to run this. Their will be some jumps and most likely a bot dot area too so won't be completly flat.

Do you guys have a KV limit on the motors?? Thinking we may include one so drivers who buy a new car don't have to go out and also buy a motor to be able to compete.

All the micro ie carisma, losi use 4500kv which comes with the car
The rest is done with the gear ratios, unless your a carisma team driver they use 6500kv Tbh 4500 kv is plenty fast enough just gear it up especially when carisma won last years micro nationals With the losi mini catching up very fast even with the 4500kv standard motor in the kit We run a micro and 1/10 th scale club with not much room but tbh You dont need much room for the micros unless your your running to brca regs which would mean you need 20 mt back straight If we were not so far away some of us guys would be interested |

Was thinking about a 4500kv motor limit, altho see that the ae rc18 has a 5000kv motor.
We're wanting to get rules in place that means it'll be close for all involved. So someone who buys a kit off the shelf won't have to spend loads to compete. Tyres we're thinking of keeping it as kit tyres or schumacher sst's. Altho have seen that the contact tc foams may fit and be kinder on the carpet.

The majority of micro racers tend to run the Schuey SSTs, with a few running the schuey mini pins - allowing the SSTs may encourage people as they don't have to buy new tyres. |

Yep, but foams will give plenty more grip than even white rally blocks. Tried it

In terms of foams what brands/ shore ratings are you guys using?? We want to test a couple of options before we announce the final rules.

Are you really looking to restrict tyre choice to that degree Stu?
Or is this more to be able to provide advice to people looking to run? |

Its mainly so we can give the right advice. If you need an M05 or M06 setup then I can give you both, but as we don't currently run micros its a quick learning curve.
The only issue with say running the sst's maybe that it will cause the carpet to fluff up which is why we want to try a couple of things first.

Fair enough
Can't comment on how whether SST's would fluff up the carpet as we run 10th off road on mini pins as well! Would the foams be with or without additive? Also. might be worth posting this on http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk as well, may well get some additional info on tyres etc over there. |

You might be better off running to brca rules imo, no foams any motor
otherwise its gonna get very complicated your more likely to damage carpet from chassis than tyres only a couple of team carisma drivers run 6900kv motors including last seasons champion, too fast for most people to handle the std 4500kv is more than fast enough for most micro racers

We're sorting out a new website for the club and just getting the dates finalised.
Been tyre testing the last few weeks and have found the contact foams (£4.99 a pr) the best suited to our track. Got 42 shore on front and 40 shore on the rear of the losi mini 8ight and without additive give plenty of grip.
