Default Message after Today's meeting

Just want to say a Big Thank You to Dan, Steve i think it was? and all others (whom I don't know the names of yet) for the warm welcome today. I had a fantastic morning in the sadistic heat and was made to feel very welcome.

I raced Touring Cars a few years back (Wlrc) but after being diagnosed with cancer I kinda put my hobbies on hold. I'm still in a long, hard battle with it, I've finished my chemo and after my wife leaving me (Yes, dumped in hospital!) late last year, I made a vow to get out there, get some fresh air and race off road!!

After a few failed attempts, I mustered up the courage to get down to TORCH and start racing and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.

Being a Noob to Off Road, I was constantly learning it all again and found my coordination a bit weird today side effects of medication etc so apologies for my god awful slow erratic driving. I certainly gave the marshals a work out! A stripped gear diff nearly ended my day but i had a spare, however dropping and subsequently murdering my transmitter ended the day for me it's a cheapy stick radio so ill try and fix it if not just replace.

Once again thank you to all and look forward to seeing you all again next meet!

Sam

Well done for getting back on your feet after a double helping of bad luck. One thing I know from experience is that you can turn the dumping of you ex into a positive and finding a much better one, I did, onwards and upwards bud!

I'm not a local to the club, I'm at Surrey and Hants (Farnborough) but a few of us made the little journey to the coast as its always good at torch. When you feel more up to it pop on over to SHRCCC we are open every Thursday evening and every other Sunday.

As also mentioned by Sam, great mornings racing and well run as always by the torch crew. Cheers Steve for the tips,on my rb6 vega, all I have to do is remember them :-)

Haha I sincerely hope so, I'm currently auditioning

I did pop down to SHRCCC a few months ago, so will hopefully as I get going, work it into Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings at Torch.

I fixed my transmitter and have sorted out my diff problem so will be down again on Sunday, hope to see you then!
