Venue Herts nitro (electric) model car club, located here: Westmill Farm, A602, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 0ES google map here: http://www.hertsnitromodelclub.co.uk/index.php?ID=5 I can’t say just how easy this place is to find, the Westmill farm entrance is really big and obvious it’s a pretty big complex. The entrance is probably no more than 500 - 600 meters away from the roundabout once you leave the A10. Once you turn in, you will immediately look to the right and see both tracks. You can turn right into the field and pit anywhere, but please do not park next to the undercover pitting, please drop off your stuff and move your car into the field. Facilities and Track The track is 100% astro with jumps Covered pitarea for pitting 240v power (This is for charging only) and lighting 10 meters away from the track Pit Tables are there, but no chairs. Air lines for cleaning cars Covered Rostrum As per BRCA rules, all LIPO batteries being charged MUST be inside a recognised LIPO sack (or similar), anyone found not using one will be asked to leave (you have been warned)... PT's must be used. We are on RC3 so purcie's will NOT work. Shame for the control tyre. I have found 2wd Schumacher mini-studs work very well on the front on my 22-4 on dry astro turf. The rear doesn't matter, ballistic buggy mini spikes or Schumacher mini spikes work for me.

Everyone could have a tyre that works best for their driving but its nice to keep it the same for everyone

That makes no sense to me. If everyone has a preference then why not let them use it, tyres are not expensive if the argument is based on competitive advantage.

I'm all for a control tyre rule as long as,like this it's a tyre that's usable most everywhere else, takes away that thing of being off the pace just because you don't have the "special" tyres for that track.

I'm all for the control tyre, especially on the 4wd front axle,(which is not something I've come across before) if I had my way, we'd have it on the 2wd front too. Most other forms of motor sports have control tyres, why not us?!

Hi,
I'm looking to get back into electric 1/10 and start 1/8 (also leccy) - I've practiced a bit at the track but never raced. Got a few questions... - Apart from the tyres, any restrictions on battery, motor etc? - Do you sell transponders? I only have an RC4, so I'll need an RC3. - Can I race different cars in the heats? E.g. I've got a D413 and a Cat K1 - if I trash the D413 in the first heat and don't have the parts, can I switch to the K1 instead? Same for the 1/8- at the moment I have an RC8.2 but I've got an 8ight-E 3.0 on the way... Cheers! |

1. for 1/10th tyres are ballistic buggy on Saturday winter series (astro track ) 2. Battery's are open but if u are using lipo they must be a hard case lipo. 3. Motor / speedo is open 4. We do sometimes have transponders for sale but we have just sold out and only buy in when when have orders over five 5. Yes u can swap cars as long as it the same class. 6. 1/8th u can swap also . (Dirt track ) Hope this helps and see u soon HNMC

That's great, thanks!
Looks like MRT are selling refurb RC3-compatible transponders on eBay, so I'll give one of those a try. Is 1/8 e-buggy open tyre? |
