Hey all.....
Couple of pics of Graham 'Northy' North's new ride... Painted and ready for the national @ Broxtowe... Gettin' the hang of the LM a bit, tried this with 4 coats, didn't seem any better or worse than 3 coats to be honest, what does everyone else go for on layers of LM?? Cheers JIm |

Have 2 scalpels, one uber sharp for cutting, another with a duller blade for generally cutting but not masking.
I have a number 3 handle, normal every day cutting, trimming out shells etc and then I have a number 7 handle, this is a much longer and thinner handle, it's easier to roll in between your fingers. Also a lot of people use the 10A scalpel blades, which are the pointy ones. I don't get get on with the rounded blades but favor the Number 11 blades, these are like darts, super pointy and perfect to let you see the ends more which I find 10's and 10A's don't let you do so easy. Kitchen roll with lighter fluid on it is perfect for wiping the shell, if you were in a body shop painting a full sized car you'd use panel wipe before you sprayed, lighter fluid does the same. Type writer rubbers are good for getting rid of blow throughs and any mistakes ! Try and cut in once continuous line, plan it before you start to do the cut. Plan your design and how you're going to put the colours on meticulously before you begin painting. |

My tip is to use needle point tweezers for removing vinyl / cut mask to avoid touching the shell
