Default 410 rear track width

The rear of a 410 seems quite narrow. I'm sure there is a design reason for this while 4WD but I'm just using the rear end on a 2WD hybrid so would want to go a little wider.

Has anyone gone about widening the track and how did they go about doing so?

Thanks

Exotec do wider rear hex's that will to the job, think the biggest is +6.25mm hex so will make a difference overall and they are only £8 so cheap too

Have been trying this on 4wd recently and found adding the orange cone washer included in the kit for old style wheels between the hex and wheel to be just right, so far seen no issues. (thanks for the tip mr S)

Normally the rear of a car is slightly narrower than the front of a car has a wider front track width allows the car to be 'easier/calmer' to drive. Narrowing the front of the car will make it more twitchy.

Widening the rear track width can help to increase rear traction, but it doesn't always work.

After playing around with rear track width recently, I found that if you put the old cone washer in between the hex and the wheel: http://www.team-durango.com/part-inf...artNo=TD714002
It takes the car right up-to the limit for rear overall width (depending on tyre choice and toe-in)

You might need to sand a pair down for tyres with larger overhang (Schu Mini Pin or PL dirt tyres). If you are going to sand a pair down, sand down the narrow part of the cone, it takes a lot less time

No probs Wes
