Default Ellis Stafford signs 2-year deal with XFactory

X-Factory have today announced that top UK driver Ellis Stafford has signed a new two year deal to keep him with the USA based manufacturer until 2013.

Ellis commented “I continue to be excited driving for X-Factory. Back in 2006 when I first joined the X-Factory team, we had the “X-5 Squared” and the original “X-6”, and they were the fastest, most innovative cars around at that time. I won the U.K. Championship in 2008 with the X-6, but we didn't stand on our laurels, we designed and raced the “X-6 Squared” to the title again in 2009, giving us the UK 2wd title two years running. A three way tie on points for the championship with the X-6 Squared in 2010, but loosing out on countback only meant we narrowly missed out on three in a row and I think it's still the fastest 2WD buggy out there now today.”

“As the team move into the winter of 2011 and with 2012 on the horizon it is the all new “X-7” 4wd that excites me now. Again X-Factory is leaping ahead with an innovative new design, and I'm so happy to be a part of the design team. I took my prototype X-7 to a club race win the other weekend and it felt very good indeed. I loom forward to 2012 and 2013 as quite possibly my most exciting years of R/C racing yet!"

X-Factory president and chief engineer Paul Sinclair said, "Ellis has been a pivotal part of the design and testing effort on the X-6 Squared and the new X-7 4WD. For continuity and future work it was important to us that he signed for the next two years, and we are very happy that Ellis wants to stay with us."

Look out for Ellis out and about at tracks all over the UK this coming winter and into the 2012 season with his X-7 4wd buggy, X-6 Squared 2wd buggy and SCX-60CF short course truck……………..

Yay, first close-ish pic of the X7.

Not that anyone is interested

Good to see the X-6 platform is still as fast as other things out there

Having seen it in the flesh at Eden Park Raceway last weekend would agree with that sentiment!
Looked very impressive in it's current format and E was testing it to the max! Some of his moves were almost beyond belief!

Lap times were impressive! And Final results can be found here: http://tiny.cc/q3udh

All the very best for the future E, sure we'll see more of the X-7 at the EPR Winter Warmer series!

Shouldnt someone tell Ellis that he has accidentally signed his t-shirt instead of the contract?

Trust me, he signed the Agreement. Ellis signed the shirt long ago!

With all the recent turmoil among top U.K. drivers it's a breath of fresh air that Ellis values the long term relationship.

Chazz, i don't think it's any different to any other year. There are allways moves to and from manufactures at this time of year and that's not just this country but everywhere.

Well done E on the extended 2 year contract

I had to have special permission to use that table, it didn't go down well when I first suggested the dining room table

I know my place and that place is the garage!

And yes that is the proto X7

Nice one Ellis, congrats to you and Xfactory. Wasn't the last contract a JB style Multi-Year deal too? So will this one take you well into the Veteran class
