As sad as I am to see that the Newbury club has given up on one of the classes that started the club in the very beginning, I will post this onto the micro forum and see if there is any interest.

Fully agree, only raced there once but would have been back again during my 1000000th comeback. Seemed pretty popular

I know sosidge off here is talking about setting up a new club in Bristol, I'm guessing he'd possibly be interested as I guess he's starting from nothing over there.

Default New Bristol Track

Nice to see the interest in Bristol!

Just to let you know there is the possibility of a new permanent indoor track in conjunction with Bristol City Council, were sorting out the details with the council and hoping to move forward ASAP....We'll let you know more ASAP

dr paul was the first to contact me about carpet so he has first dibs on that, speed freak asked about the jumps first so he has first dibs on them.

the carpet is the cheap stuff, its ok to run touring cars on but does fluff and streach a bit, its in 3 large rolls ( You need to email the club chairman to get sizes as I dont know them ) but you will need a large sprinter stze van to move it.

we race every friday evening so it can be collected then.

club chairman can be contacted via here

Shame to hear this from Newbury. Was really hoping they'd race off road again sometime. Still let's hope this gear goes to good use at other clubs, and here's hoping for another midweek indoor local venue.

Well that is annoying, especially as I personally telephoned two of the Newbury Committee on DrPauls behalf, and then emailed Matt afterwards, after my initial reply

Gutting to hear this but completely understand the decision, on off road nights Newbury just weren't getting any people - those MK Meetings and Winter series races were awesome though, one of the best tracks i ever raced at indoors since i originally started in 93.. I know Touring cars are really popular at Newbury now so great to see them doing well with such a strong membership.

Maybe we'll get another track this way, CML Raceway is still there - we just need to get Lee to agree to get it going properly again :-)
